Water Play

This past Friday was our Aubrey day. It was Grandpa's day off so he got to enjoy her company too. We walked to the park, played at the playground, ate lunch at the Milky Way, and spent time playing with the water play table and stuff. I spent 29.95 on the water play table and 2.00 on a package of sponges. She loves them both, but I suppose I could have gotten by with sponges and a bucket. :)

Enjoying the Blooms!

We have managed to put some flowery touches on our apartment space.

We already enjoyed our back patio,
but now it has become a patio garden sanctuary!

Adventures with Aubrey

We had our first "Aubrey/Grandma Day" this past Tuesday. Grandma gets to spend the day with Aubrey one day a week and we're gonna have fun!! Since it was our first time, I tried to document the day with pictures. :)

This week we went to story time at Child's Play Toy Store. We were having so much fun we didn't get a picture taken during story time. But afterwards we stayed at the store and played with the cool stuff.

It was a hot, sunny day, so Aubrey decided to check out the new water play table we got. We both got a little wet but it felt good.

For lunch -- pbj sandwich on raisin bread and blueberry yogurt!

Then down for a little quiet time. Both of us. :)

After our nap, we visited Grandpa at his office. He showed Aubrey the fun maze and tunnel that was constructed for VBS and convinced me to crawl through it with her. Fun!!

Then when Grandpa came home from work they played with Aubrey's princess doll. She has magnetic clothing and accessories that she dresses up with.

We can hardly wait until next week.
On the agenda: bake pie for the Tea Pot Days booth!

Weekend fun

We took advantage of the beautiful weather this weekend by taking a nice bike ride. We got on the bike trail at the zoo and peddled up north, beyond the airport and coming back to the falls. We stopped there for some lunch at the Overlook Cafe and appreciated the view from our table.

Then we peddled across town stopping for a view of the Cathedral and the view of the city from what must be the highest point in Sioux Falls.

Later, we took a drive out to Palisades State Park, a lovely park where we'll plan another day trip to hike or maybe just sit and read. (or both :)

After the storm

We had a thunderstorm here last night. Lightning, thunder, pea-size hail, extreme wind, and heavy rain. When it was over.... a full rainbow .... and sun shine in the west.

I couldn't get the whole rainbow in one shot. Here's half at a time.

Looking out our front door to the west.

Sunny Day in May

What a beautiful day today! I rode my bike around town to take a few pics for the blog. Here's a little bit of our Tea world.

This is a "before" picture of what will become my garden area in front of our place. By next week we'll have several pots of flowers and a bird bath!

Road construction has closed the primary road into Tea and traffic is detoured to Main Avenue (our street). During morning and evening commute times we have trouble getting out of our driveway!!

This is the B & G Milky Way ice cream joint. Only steps away from our place. Holy Temptation Batman!!

Tea City Park. The park has a lovely pond with two fountains, playgrounds for big kids and little kids and of course the waterpark and pool.
