Weekend fun

We took advantage of the beautiful weather this weekend by taking a nice bike ride. We got on the bike trail at the zoo and peddled up north, beyond the airport and coming back to the falls. We stopped there for some lunch at the Overlook Cafe and appreciated the view from our table.

Then we peddled across town stopping for a view of the Cathedral and the view of the city from what must be the highest point in Sioux Falls.

Later, we took a drive out to Palisades State Park, a lovely park where we'll plan another day trip to hike or maybe just sit and read. (or both :)

After the storm

We had a thunderstorm here last night. Lightning, thunder, pea-size hail, extreme wind, and heavy rain. When it was over.... a full rainbow .... and sun shine in the west.

I couldn't get the whole rainbow in one shot. Here's half at a time.

Looking out our front door to the west.

Sunny Day in May

What a beautiful day today! I rode my bike around town to take a few pics for the blog. Here's a little bit of our Tea world.

This is a "before" picture of what will become my garden area in front of our place. By next week we'll have several pots of flowers and a bird bath!

Road construction has closed the primary road into Tea and traffic is detoured to Main Avenue (our street). During morning and evening commute times we have trouble getting out of our driveway!!

This is the B & G Milky Way ice cream joint. Only steps away from our place. Holy Temptation Batman!!

Tea City Park. The park has a lovely pond with two fountains, playgrounds for big kids and little kids and of course the waterpark and pool.

The Latest

In past weeks we have enjoyed some spring-like weather, had good visits from Ruth and Joe, former neighbors from Watertown, and good friends from Minneapolis, attended lots of church activities (including Wayne's installation as pastor at Trinity and our reception as new members there), and our first visit to the local ice cream joint, The Milky Way! And, of course, always a highlight for us is time with Aubrey! (and her parents)

We've managed to retrieve some items from our storage unit including our patio table and chairs, our bikes, bird feeders and shepherd hooks, and the outside toys for Aubrey. I refuse to believe that we might get snow again this coming weekend!!

"Working" at home.

Yup, that's our window open for fresh air!!
Looking forward to new growth on our front yard plants.

A game Aubrey likes.... climb on Grandma!
And when Grandpa lays on the floor... she likes to climb on Grandpa!!

Here's a little snippet of what Saturday morning is like when Aubrey comes over!

Hallelujah!

We enjoyed a performance of Handel's Messiah by the South Dakota Symphony and Chorus this past Sunday. Here's a familiar piece.
