A glimpse of the week

Whew. What a fabulous week it has been. The beautiful wedding of Liz and Ioannis, partying with the family "greek style" and then hanging here at our place in Watertown with our dearest. We took lots of pictures and most importantly had a wonderful time. Here's just a few snapshots.

The Latest

Although it was mostly a working weekend for Wayne, we did enjoy some nice weather, got some yard work done, he got out to the car races, and we had the pleasure of some good company. We talked to Eric on their 6th wedding anniversary. Can you believe its been six years since that fabulous party in Winnipeg! Looking forward to seeing them in less than two weeks.

Wayne was the speaker for a Memorial Day service at Telemarken Lutheran Church in rural Wallace. This place has a nice tradition of an annual service and it was well attended by folks from many states.
Travis, Lisa and Aubrey stopped by for a quick visit on their way home from family time with the Walkers.
And then ... Wayne fired up the smoker and prepared a feast for us and some neighbor families. Four racks of ribs, two chickens and a beef brisket. yumm, yumm.
Our little neighbor girl Kendra enjoying a cupcake. Too bad Aubrey can't share a little of her hair with Kendra :)

Fabulous Friday

Finish staining the deck - check;
plant flowers in the pots - check;
feed and weed the lawn - check;
fill the raised beds with more flowers - check;
sit out with the neighbors and enjoy a fire - check.

What a great start to the weekend.
Time for a shower (and maybe some ibuprofen for the back)

Bliss

We had a nice Friday day off. We woke up to sunshine, had coffee at the Goss, and then errands to run in Sioux Falls....so you know what that means. Thanks again Travis and Lisa for letting us stop in (and feeding us!) Here's a couple of pictures of Aubrey and Grandma.

I got her some stickers.

Happy Mother's Day

Hurrah for our moms!! We took a trip to Aberdeen to visit our mothers.... and forgot to bring the camera!! So I looked back in the archives and found some pics of some past visits. (I'm not sleeping, I'm enjoying the beautiful weather). Thanks moms for your unconditional love.

Otherwise, things haven't been terribly exciting around here. The weather has kept us from yard work and finishing the deck (its only 1/2 stained!) I had an especially busy week at work with the publication of the quarterly Hospice Newsletter that has been added to my tasks. Wayne made a trip to Sioux Falls for hospital visits and got to see Travis, Lisa and Aubrey for a brief (but fun) visit. He reports that she learns something new daily. We're thankful that Travis is recovering well from his knee surgery last Monday. Sorry that he continues to have pain, but thankful he can get around okay.

Looking forward to a warmer and sunnier week!

Home Sweet Home

Yes the tulips are up and blooming. Kind of cool and rainy today so they stayed closed. Looks like all of our perennials are coming up. We're especially pleased about the peonies that Wayne planted last year and the clematis that was pretty wimpy last year. They all look pretty good so far this spring.

We're sticking close to home this weekend. Seems like we've been on the road quite a bit in the past two weeks. This cool and rainy weekend is a good time to vegetate in the house! Wayne is still battling a cold that he's had for two weeks and now I feel like I'm getting it. Darn! I hardly ever get sick!

We did enjoy a concert last night by the SD Symphony Orchestra. "Jeans and Classics." The Orchestra backed a group that sang Billy Joel hits and it was great. We saw the same group last year and they did Beatles hits. Then tonight we will go listen to Billy Dean and Dan Mahar - a little more country/rock.

Wayne is preaching at 5:30 Saturday church. I'm on call at the hospital all weekend... but so far its quiet. Hope you have a good weekend!
